Marina Del Rey Living: How To Deal with Loud Construction Noise

Marina del Rey may be one of the most beautiful places to live in all of Southern California, but even a city as beautiful as this has construction work going on and all that loud noise can make living in your apartment unbearable. If you are dealing with a construction area near your apartment, the key to staying sane is trying to sound proof your apartment.

The first tip is to try sleeping with some background noise in order for your brain to focus on soothing sounds early in the morning rather than the loud and rough sounds of a jack hammer. What you can also do is hanging thick drapes in order to absorb and capture sounds coming from the outside. The biggest key is to stay calm and just realize the construction work is only temporary and will be done soon.

Pack clothes on hangers: save yourself time unpacking by keeping your clothes on hangers and simply wrapping them with plastic during the move.

Free boxes: look on craigslist or other websites for free boxes–there is always someone giving them away—instead of paying for them.

Color coding system: finding things once you move into a new place is always tough. Instead of stressing out, use a color coded system to make things easier. Mark all bedroom boxes with the color purple and all kitchen boxes with green and everything will be in their place from the get go.
